How could it be otherwise in the case of a band based in Compostela, it all started one rainy day. One of those days in which it provides more shelter than walking on cobblestones and puddles, where the hurtful songs that come from the depths of the bowels are more enjoyed. One of those days in which releasing tensions and unloading passions becomes a necessity more than vital. A gray day, with permanent rain and an unpleasant panorama push Julio (ex Tumbitas, ex Motherfuckers) and Merchi to barricade themselves in a, of course, humid venue to rehearse songs that have long gravitated in their heads.
Influenced by countless raw and intense soundtracks (Gories, Oblivians, Cheater Slicks, Velvet Underground ...) they begin to shape a bug that little by little becomes hungry and free.
Over time the duo expanded into a trio with the entry of a new guitar (Manuel) and later a quartet when Jose (ex Os Anais, ex The Tractors) joined on bass.
And the bug became a monster ...
Sounding like a kind of noisy Garage Punk, bathed in feedback and Psychedelia, they begin to give concerts and the monster's appetite multiplies. Manuel is forced to leave the band, but is still involved in it in terms of the artistic side, providing the cover and other ideas for what this first album will be: WORD 1, recorded by Roberto Mallo (Triángulo De Amor Bizarro) and mastered in Field Recordings by Rafael Martínez Del Pozo (Eliminator Jr).
The album has been released thanks to the collaboration of El Beasto Recordings, Discos Porno, NW Mag Pie Records and with the support of Bar Embora de Compotela.
Since then, Manuel's place has been occupied by Martín aka Mack Paramo (Los Thyssen, Psychotic Acid Freek) and the sound takes one turn, two turns… an infinity of turns to end up in the same place but with different nuances. With a sound that oscillates between the wildest and swampy sounds and Psychedelia, the influences (Dead Moon, Scientists, Mudhoney ...) are still there but ... the bug devoured the man and the songs ride pushed by incendiary riffs, basses and drums that tread like mammoths, delusional slides and lyrics that deal with commitments, love, heartbreak, restlessness, ambition ... This is Thee Boas ...
